Our Process

Turn your dream building into a reality with a custom-crafted design. We collaborate with our clients through the entire process to ensure a smooth and easy experience. Step-by-step, the idea is engineered into an initial concept sketch, followed by a 3D design showcasing every phase of the progression. No matter what you have in mind—commercial, community, agricultural, or residential – you can feel confident developing your dream with Hostetler Buildings.

Step 1. The Concept Phase

Let’s get to know each other! Bring your plans and we’ll discuss your building, create a Sketch-up draft, and acquaint you with our construction process. We’ll schedule a site visit if necessary and discuss what we need to start the next step.

Step 2. Quoting

You’ll fill out a quote request with all the specifics of your project. We’ll double-check the Sketch-Up draft against your quote request and discuss the construction timeline. We’ll also go over building permits and codes.

Step 3. Contract Signing (In Person)

Together, we’ll finalize the building plans and Sketch-Up draft and agree on construction and payment timelines. Engineering, drafting, manufacturing, and building crews are scheduled. The down payment is due. Changes after this point can incur additional cost and time.

Step 4. Tekla Signoff (In-person or Zoom)

Virtually explore your project in 3D form, checking that windows and doors are sized and placed correctly. When we are sure that every detail matches the contract, you’ll sign off on the Tekla plans for manufacturing. The preliminary phase is over!

Step 5. Site Prep

We are happy to recommend trusted excavation companies for this phase, but you are free to find your own contractor if you prefer. Based on building specifications and schedule, we provide criteria for pad, driveway(s), and a staging area for materials.

Step 6. Site Inspection

Before construction begins, we’ll inspect the site to verify that pad, staging area, and driveways are completed accurately. (If you use your own concrete contractor, they will need to abide by the agreed-upon plans and meet Hostetler criteria for quality and scheduling.)

Step 7. Construction

Manufacturing and construction logistics come together. Experienced crews stay on schedule with Project Manager check-ins ensuring a smooth, error-free build. We’ll keep you updated frequently during this phase. A progress payment is due.

Step 8. And we’re done!

One final project walk-through together to make sure you’re happy with your new building. Final payment is due here. Now you’ve reached the most exciting part: You’re ready to move in. We at Hostetler Buildings appreciate the opportunity to build your dream!
